and Other Delusions of Grandeur

Another weekend update…

It was a pretty sweet weekend. After classes on Friday, I went and picked Michelle up from home and took her on an awesome date. We went to Zarra’s resturaunt, which is really nice and fancy. Then we went to Phipps conservatory at night, which is really fun. Then, we went to see Oedipus at the O’Reilly Theatre. I think she had a really good time.

Saturday, I took my baby home (after a Sheetz breakfast run), and then basically relaxed all afternoon until that evening when I had the last Book of Liz performance. That night, I had teardown, which was a disaster. It was a long night, and we ended up somehow losing 2 Source4 ellipsoidal fixtures. Don’t ask me how, we don’t know.

Sunday was cool becuase I had lunch with Alexa, my floormate from last year, and her boyfriend and his roomate, Grant. It was pretty cool, becuase we went to Bravo’s for lunch, then to Petco, Michaels and then we went to Baskin Robbin’s for dessert.

Yesterday was pretty lazy, and becuase of the rain, today is seeming that way also. I don’t really like the look of this blogging engine, so I’m going to try to find a new one…

Another week, another updatte…

I figured I’d leave a post. I dunno if anyone reads this blog. I don’t really care though. It’s a nice happy medium between social seclusion and being a MySpace whore.

Last weekend, I went home to visit the gang. I try to time my return trips to match Josh’s, and this time, pretty much everyone was home, even Skiv.

Friday night, I visited Josh and Roney (Derek was there too, but he lives there). Then, I went to the Skvarla’s to visit. Saturday, I visited band and got to see all my freshmen (currently juniors, btw), and a few of my favorite drama guild people like Audra and Dani. That night, we went to the Woodland Hills band show to see PT perform their show. They are really good. Read is a pretty good drum major, and the moral of the band seemed very good too. Sometimes I miss it a little bit, but I suffer from the grass-is-greener, so I’d probably complain about it if I went back. Anyways, that night, we all went back to the Skvarla complex and had a big reunion party. It was pretty fun.

Sunday morning I had to get up early to load in lights to McConomy auditorium for my show, “The Book of Liz”. I decided to give the student theatre organization, Scotch’n'Soda another try this year. So far, things are going well. I’m the master electrician for the show, so I have to make sure everything is working by tomorrow when we open. So far, I got all of the lights in and me and the lighting designer have been focusing them all week. I also installed the clearCOM system and tonight, I’ll probably be tidying everything up. It’s a lot of work, but I’m doing lighting, and I love lighting.

Tomorrow is an amazing day though, cause Michelle is coming to visit and spend the night at my place. I’m really excited to see her, it’s been like 3 weeks. Saturday, I’ll be home to take Michelle back to her house, so if anyone will be in town, please let me know, or otherwise, I’ll come back to the apartment and study more *sigh*. Story of my life, lol.

Another Checkup

Nothing to exciting going on in my world. Typical day in the life of Nick Smarto. I had two tests, one in Thermodynamics and one in 3D Calc. I actually think I did pretty good on them. Tonight, mom and my grandmother and I went out for dinner tonight. We went to Bravo’s at the Waterfront, and it was really good.

Before I returned to my apartment, I went on a wild goose chase to try to get my iPod fixed. Tommorow, I’m going to have to run to the Apple store in Shadyside.

Besides that, life is boring. Apparently, everyone is coming home this weekend, so I’m going to try to find time to swing home. Sunday morning, I have a lighting loadin for “The Book of Liz”. The loadin will go ok, but it’s nice and early in the morning.

I’m sure I’ll check in soon…. I wonder if anyone reads this…
